I am a nurse and have spent most of my nursing career in elderly care. I have also got experience of nursing and caring for people in the community. Whilst nursing for people in the community I felt torn by the fact that there was not the opportunity for me to just sit and give company to people who by circumstance have become lonely and socially isolated. This also gives much needed respite for family members.
